Looking Back

Language Arts

  • Learned about the suffixes -ly (slowly), -ful (cheerful), -less (helpless)

  • Started planning and writing our own stories

    • Talked about a “hook” to get our readers interested right away

    • Introduced our character using describing words

    • Introduced the problem in our story

Math

  • Continued our work with 3D shapes and talked about/practiced sorting by attributes


  • Introduced our next math unit about measurement and using non-standard units to measure things 

Science

  • Had a discussion about First Nations, Metis and Inuit cultural practices and how they value plants and animals

    • Take only what you need

    • Use all parts of the plants and animals

  • Drew and labelled a moose to show our learning about what parts First Nations would use when they hunt
