Welcome Back

 Welcome back to another school year! My name is Lindsey Janisse and I will be your child's teacher this year. I am very excited to have moved up from Grade 1 last year. I know we will have a wonderful year ahead. 

Looking back

This week we focused on many classroom building activities:

- Our Class is a Family - we wrote ways that we will contribute to our classroom family

- First Day Jitters - we did a graphing activity telling how we felt on the first day of school

- Journal writing - we wrote an "all about me" page telling a bit about ourselves

Math:

- We began a conversation about patterns and did a pattern hunt and exploration with various materials.

                             .            

We also got to meet our buddies this week and are making All About Me posters about each other!

Looking ahead

Our library days will be on Tuesdays. Please ensure books are brought back each week in order to sign another one out.

The school Terry Fox Run will take place on Friday, September 12th at 9:00 am. Students are encouraged to bring in Toonies for Terry to support cancer research. If we reach our fundraising goal of $1150, we’ll celebrate the following week with a special “Wear Your Favourite Sports Swag” day!

MTS Open House 

On Thursday September 11 from 4:30pm-6:30pm, McKenzie Towne School will be hosting an Open House for students and their families.

If you are interested in attending this informal event, please feel free to pop into the school with your student to meet their teacher and tour the school.
