Looking back
Language arts
Learned about the suffixes -er and -est (high, higher, highest)
Talked about the doubling rule when using those suffixes (if a word has one vowel and one consonant you double the consonant (big, bigger, biggest)
Finished our Jack and the Beanstalk story and broke down the story into ‘somebody; wanted; but; so; then; finally’ to summarize the story
Talked about accepting consequences and did some writing to explain our understanding
Math
Talked about attributes of 3D shapes
Talked about transformations - slides, flips and turns and did some fun activities to practice these concepts
Finished up our lifecycles projects
Talked about plant and animal offspring and played a matching game
Had some good discussions about positive and negative impacts humans can have on plants and animals

May 18 Victoria Day - NO SCHOOL
Just a reminder that if the weather is nice we may head out for a community walk this week. Please ensure your child is prepared with proper footwear and a water bottle.
